 Consultations
A comprehensive vision consultation assesses your eye health and the way you use your visual system to obtain and process visual information.
If you are new to the practice please allow up to an hour for your initial consultation.
Fees
My Little Eye charges the Medicare Schedule fee for consultations that attract a Medicare benefit. For your convenience Medicare Easyclaims is available in store to electronically claim your rebate from Medicare. Some of the consultations and extra procedures available at My Little Eye are not covered under Medicare and the applicable fee will be advised in these circumstances.
Case History
It is important to obtain a case history prior to the evaluation.
Please let the Optometrist know if there is a family history of any eye problems or if you have ever experienced any eye trauma or diseases.
Questionnaires can be downloaded and completed before the examination.
Eye Health
Regular eye check ups assist in detecting eye health problems at an early stage.
Screening for glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and other eye conditions are undertaken during the full initial consultation.
Referral to an Ophthalmologist (eye specialist) will be arranged if any eye health problems are detected.

Visual Efficiency Skills
These are the skills necessary for comfortable and efficient vision.
When they are working optimally we use them automatically and effortlessly.
They include eyesight clarity, eye movement control, eye teaming and focusing ability.
Good visual skills increase the ease with which visually received information is captured
Visual Information Processing Skills
These are the skills we use to create vision in our minds using the visual information captured by our eyes in combination with the wealth of prior experiences contained within the storehouse of our memory.
