Vision and Learning

Vision is the use of light entering our eyes to interpret our environment, plan our actions and direct our movements.

How easily we achieve this is determined by our ability to control and coordinate the complex mechanisms of our eyes to capture the parts of the visual field we deem important and by our ability to skilfully process and act upon that information.

Optometrist Robyn Price

Robyn Price B App Sc (Optom) opened her practice in 2010 with the vision of personally delivering a high level of attentive, caring and professional service to each patient.

Having completed her undergraduate degree at QIT in 1987 Robyn (originally from Cairns) worked as an Optometrist in Brisbane for 2 years before returning to the Far North with her husband BJ in 1990 to establish Price's Palm Plantation at Bartle Frere. Since then Robyn has been providing Optometrical care in both Innisfail & Cairns.

OAA Robyn is a behavioural optometrist and a member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and the Optometrists Association Australia. ACBO

Regular eye check ups assist in detecting eye health and vision problems at an early stage.
Screening for glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and other eye conditions is undertaken during the initial full consultation

If you are new to the practice please allow up to an hour for your initial consultation. Pre-examination questionnaires assist us in tailoring your consultation to your needs.

Visual Efficiency Skills

Necessary for comfortable and efficient vision, when they are working optimally we use them automatically and effortlessly.
They include eyesight clarity, eye movement control, eye teaming and focusing ability.

Visual Information Processing Skills

We use these skills to create vision in our minds using the visual information captured by our eyes in combination with the wealth of prior experiences contained within the storehouse of our memory
